I’ve heard of similar finishing techniques on necks. I’m going to use some of the tinted clear to age it, then shoot clear on the fretboard and headstock. I’ll likely sand the back of the neck to a satin finish. My current strat has no finish on the back of the neck. My LP is just worn off on the back of the neck.

My hand sticks to slick lacquered necks from sweating. I’ve learned to rough it up a little with 400 grit. Works for me.
