Got electrical BS figured out then tried to crank newly rebuilt engine, tried hard to crank first time, second time almost turned over but heard a "clunk", third crank nada.
Hand turning C/wrench results in turning both ways, to a point, so covers gotta come off to see WTF kind of bullshit we have to deal with now.

Don't overlook a clutch/trans problem especially if a stick shift. No lie knew someone used wrong bolts and engine wouldn't crank(bolt may be too long and hitting). Just a thought if nothing obvious with valves, i would uncouple trans before diggin into engine. Seen a couple times trans issues were the culprit. Once the flexplate was binding, can't remember if it was wrong replacement/installed wrong or a convertor issue though. Memory not serving me well sorry.
Anyway best of luck, not easy to jump into a project someone else did 90% of the work.
