After our delicious meal, we walked around a bit before heading back to the boat. As a "working island", it was quite obvious they were Trump supporters.
There are two churches on the island ( but no bars ) and the graves have concrete lids to make sure the "departed" stay in place as the island is only 4' above sea level. The small cemetery is in someone's yard. The latest person interned was in 1900.
They have a post office on the island and get mail delivered daily. A boat is chartered for mail delivery and also for food and supplies from the main island. No house delivery but every one has a post office box.
Most parking spots for the golf carts are raised slightly in case of flooding.
A little local history
The boat were came out on. The boat captain told us to make sure we were on the boat as it leaves promptly at 4 pm. He also said if you miss the boat, there are bed and breakfasts on the island and you can get back on the boat when he leaves again at 4 pm the next day
