The other two houses shown are my brother-in-law (next door) and his neighbor. Chuck (the neighbor) got hit hard. I told him if he wants to go stand in line and try and get more chains for my chainsaw, I'll happily cut up all of his downed trees. My chain is spent.
Today it was announced that Sanibel Island is uninhabitable and they are removing all remaining residents from the island. Best guess is it will take 1 year to get the causeway rebuilt. 1 year.... think about that. 7,000 people live on that island, not even counting Captiva. All residents, and all workers from both islands are now banned from the island. No home, no work, no nothing. Fort Myers Beach is worse.
