"Nobody Loves Wilbur" (1946)...



... A Pound Puppy remained unclaimed after the 1945 Christmas season, and faces a difficult future. Things change for the better after the LA Times wrote an article about him in early January, and he is adopted the next day.


That is a very well done picture, look at it full-size.

I find it interesting how some things date the scene. Notice the fabric of the caretakers clothes, and his shoes. Notice the leash made from rope which would commonly have been used for cattle. At that time though, that kind of rope was likely cheapest and most available.
