Not in college, but yes, at bachelor parties. They used to call them "Stag Movies".
I also remember a guy my dad worked with when I was a kid would buy by mail order negatives of nude women. He had a darkroom in his garage and had a side business of making photo prints from the negatives and selling them. If you tried to have a regular photo processor make them you risked being arrested and charged with a crime back then.
When we would visit my dad's friend my dad would go out into the garage with him and I was told not to go out there. Which was okay because I had a crush on his daughter and her and I would "play" in her room.
My dad told me the whole story years later and we got a big laugh out of it.
