They had nearly that many when they migrated from zeroforum to VBulletin in the early 2000s....They're closer to 500k members now.
I agree, the VB 3.8 platform is solid, but from their perspective, shouldn't showcasing your own product kinda be a priority?
"pissing folks off" hasn't been a blip on their GAF radar since 2007, that most definitely isn't their reason.
