Do not screw with Mexican Aduana and guns. They screw more Americans than anyone else. When you are going south from El Paso there is no marked "last US exit". You can not bring a firearm into Mexico legally. There is no turn around at the border. If you find yourself in that position stop before you get to Mexican Customs and throw your firearms out. Maybe you can get back to them before they are picked up. If not you have lost them. It is better than 10 or more years in a Mexican jail.
