Seems highly unlikely that the real motor is "under the bonnet where it normally would be on a corvette" using a VW floor pan with Corvair engine. The article describing it is as sketchy as the car itself....
Also seems bizarre that some producer had to stoop to this level of economy for what was in the time a big deal.
