A group of 50 senior Republican national security officials signed a letter Monday warning that presidential candidate Donald Trump “lacks the character, values and experience to be president.”

Many of the group were aides and cabinet members during the George W. Bush administration, according to the New York Times. They warned that a Trump presidency could threaten American security.

“From a foreign policy perspective, Donald Trump is not qualified to be President and Commander-in-Chief,” the letter reads. “Indeed, we are convinced that he would be a dangerous President and would put at risk our country’s national security and well-being.”

He weakens U.S. moral authority as the leader of the free world,”
the letter continues. The group said that they would not vote for Trump, but did not expressly say they would vote for his Democratic rival, Hillary Clinton.

Signees include former Pennsylvania Gov. and the first Homeland Security Secretary Tom Ridge, former CIA and NSA director Michael Hayden, former Homeland Security secretary Michael Chertoff, former national intelligence director and Secretary of State John Negroponte, former deputy Secretary of State and William Howard Taft IV, the grandson of President William Howard Taft.

Since receiving the Republican nomination in July, Trump has garnered criticism from national security experts, including some who argue that he should not receive classified briefings.

These are the same war hawks that invaded Iraq, the worst foreign policy blunder of the last 50 years that we are talking about. I'd say their judgement and "moral authority" is pretty suspect.

Trump has started NO new wars. Trump has held both our allies and our foes to a higher standard. All the new trade deals and negotiations are evidence of that. Demanding that Germany and other NATO members start paying up, then actually doing something about it when they don't.....that's new.

Pulling troops out of Germany, where they are helping the German economy? They won't pay what they agreed to for their own and the common NATO defense. Hell yes they need to lose a bunch of our troops.

Trump has publicly berated and chastised Germany for supporting the Nordstream PPL. Why are we spending big money to protect Germany from Russia, and then Germany turns around and buys natural gas from....Russia? It boggles the mind, especially when they could buy our CNG instead, from a safe source that won't cut them off in the Winter, for leverage.

Peace through strength, ending wars, and not starting wars, is anathema to the uniparty who run the DNC and USED to run the RNC. The only group that kind of policy is good for is.....ordinary Americans like you and me.

It's why Trump is so hated by the entire establishment. Remember how GWB was a baby killer, killing innocent Iraqis because he hated brown people, etc.? Now, the left loves him. Why?
