I'm saying I wouldn't fault him for that, and I don't have a 26 yr old to draw an exact parallel. I certainly wouldn't give a room long term, and I'm sure she traded something in on the car she has now. I think selling her car and getting something comparable to what she had is fair, then let her go get gas and insurance.
Also don't confuse my views on society's responsibilities, for my views on family. Two very different things.
