Plenty have that skill. I'm one. I've done beam joints in a similar fashion. I've also built post & beam homes using zero nails/screws/bolts to frame the entire structure.

But no, most will not spend the necessary money for fine carpentry. Most wouldn't know the differance.

I'm currently building a Lake Cabin for an owner with an open check book. I'm approaching 2 years on the build. I've employed a crew of carpenters who have mill work and carpentry skills, but never built homes. With my help and under my direction...we have done some outstanding custom one off work.
