It is really awesome that your family works well together on such matters. My family always has also, but I've seen so many who don't.
And congratulations on shit-canning the mortgage. But be prepared for the people who may tell you it's stupid to not have a mortgage. Rather than get into a debate, I just humor them and say I'm a dumb-ass with a paid-for home.....
