My point is Chevys have had remote start on the key fob nearly 20 years. If you are so far away from the car to need cellular to connect IMO you have no business starting it. To get remote start ( on a nearly 50k car) you have to pay ~$120/year OR buy an additional fob at $400. The $120 a year gets you the app and connectivity. Now the car is perfectly happy to do software updates over my home WiFI but I can't use the app over the WiFi to start it.
