I was thinking about this earlier. Spot On.
When you truly love a person, you have to consider their feelings, their desires, and their faults. Through the years, there have been many women I admired and sought a relationship with, only to get rejection. And you know what? That's perfectly fine! Rejection only helps you weed out the people that you probably shouldn't be with in the first place!
If you truly love them, as a person with a soul, you give them their space and move on.
As pointed out throughout this thread, Dan was a Narcissist. He put that woman on a pedestal only to try validate himself. Everybody is flawed. Nobody is perfect. I don't know why he didn't learn that lesson, but he didn't.
He doesn't deserve any respect IMO. His selfishness resulted in the death of an innocent person.
He may have been a nice guy to talk to (for some) in life, but he ****ed up. And ****ed up BAD.
The only victim here is his wife.
