More like declining skills problems. He's just not as good as he once was, although he looked good today. He's not old, about to turn 33, but been pitching in MLB since he was 20. He's been wearing the Giants uniform longer than any other current player and has had that status since 2010. He represents the beginning of the formation of the team that wound up winning three World Series in five years. The post Barry Bonds era, if you will. Same pitching coach all those years, too. Dave Righetti is the longest serving pitching coach in MLB.
He's made a boatload of money and has three WS rings. Not a bad career for a guy his age. He can pretty much name any job he wants with the Giants organization.
Our idiot closer threw the game away in the 9th inning for the 2nd time in three days. So Cain goes out without a win in his last game. But he's always been a class act, and he won't complain. Never has.
