True for most from our era. Today you're lucky if everybody even eats at the table at the same time. Food preparation has become too fast and convenient. A family meal used to be an event.

When my grandchildren were younger and lived nearby, both of their parents and my wife worked a lot of odd hours. I was always off on weekends and insisted that at least every Sunday night they come to my house and sit down for dinner at a certain time. This day, they will tell you they appreciated it.
