I'm going to loop back to something Cyber posted during the election, because it really stuck in my mind. Something to the effect of "Trump's playing three-dimensional chess while his enemies think he's playing checkers."
It was just a phone call. But a phone call with a message- "I'm about to be the President of the United States of America, and I can damn well call anyone I want to, whenever I want to, without consulting anyone else first."
And, of course, the Master Troll was probably fishing for what type of reaction he'd get. That in itself will be valuable information going forwards- knowing he'll be negotiating with China at some point in the not so far away future.
