And that's exactly why China has been doing everything but an armed confrontation with the US. There are cyber attacks around the clock on many fronts as, imo, the biggest example.
For quick proof, look at the design of the new China fighter jet. Then look at the design of the USAF F-22. How can anyone look at those two and think China came up with the design independently.
