I’ll turn 77 in a couple of months, Steve. Graduated high school in 1964.
Lake pipes (real or fake) were very popular and very common to see. Open exhausts were illegal in Northern Virginia where I lived but guys would cross the bridge over to Maryland and uncap their pipes which was legal there.
In addition to fake lake pipes, fake teardrop spotlights and fake dual radio antennas were popular, too.
