I will politely eat it and thank them for the meal - this is what being civilized means. It's the thought that counts, and they were polite enough to provide hospitality, I will be polite enough to show gratitude.
It's like going to a friend's house on a hot day and he offers you a Coors Light. You can take the beer or kick him in the ass, only one of the ways will cause him to remain your friend. When he comes to your house is when you start schooling him on real beer.
