I had a "police encounter" on Monday morning at 6:10 am and guess what, everything was fine.
I opened up the shop and forgot to enter the alarm code. ( yes, I was stupid ) It was raining and i went back to my vehicle to get my laptop. I missed the alarm company call while out in the parking lot. My co worker mentioned the alarm panel was beeping.
I entered the code and waited by the garage door. When the police showed up, the first thing I did was say I forgot to enter the code and stated my name. I offered ID but all he asked for was DOB and the company phone number.
I didn't get shot, tazed or made the officer uneasy.
Don't act like an asshole and you will probably live to see tomorrow.
