one of the easiest things to do is to throw around slurs.
"you're a racist"
"you hate women" (sorry, didn't want to look up misogynist)
"you're a homophobe"
"you hate muslims" (same with xenophobic)
and of course, if you are falsely accused, you deny it, and the accuser notes that anyone who is one or more of the above always denies it.
so you spend your half the debate denying a lie, and never get to the point.
The Bible has quite a bit to say about homosexuals. in both the OT and NT, so an educated Jew or Christian will know what it says and believe it is against God's plan, and therefore be against it as well.
that doesn't mean that I'm scared of catching cooties, or that I'm irrationally afraid of gays, but it does mean that I believe that what is being done is morally wrong. and if you ask me, I might tell you. but I certainly will not be joining any parade, signing any petition, or in any way celebrating what I believe is sin.
so with that, expect someone to label me as a "homophobe" and shut down any further discussion, and just bash me..... did you see that? i'm the one being bashed? not them by me. cute trick.
