Bought my Sub (with extra links) for $5,200 in 2001 from a local vendor who negotiated on price. Current value about $7,500.
I have it serviced by a place in LA. Yes, the cost of the services over the years might exceed the appreciation, but all of those Seikos I bought for 3 or 4 hundred went to zero. My Rolex was a good investment, and I still love looking at it on my wrist every day, 17 years later.
