I heard at a symposium that the average homeowner took about 3 years to put 60 hours on their mowers... and componentry on some machines was designed with a life expectancy just slightly beyond that; and beyond the warranty period as well.
If you keep the oil topped off on that Briggs it will probably outlive the warranty, but if you actually maintain it it will probably live as long as you want it to.
