In order for them to do that, the pilots would have had to successfully simultaneously turned off all tracking devices, and brought the plane down from 35,000 feet to below radar level, then they would have had to fly the plane damn near the waterline until they reached somewhere where they could land a jumbo jet. That seems doubtful, because the air controllers should have been able to pick up that the plane changed altitude before it disappeared.
Mid air explosion is the only thing that really explains this.
