Regarding the Veterans, that’s not what I was really driving at.

In the late 70’s when I was considering the military, Vietnam had essentially just ended. The hangover was a real thing for many people. I remember the war but nothing specific. It was on TV news most nights in my house which my parents watched religiously. My father was in the Army and he never encouraged - or discouraged me from enlisting. But I had friends who’s parents were *absolutely* against it.

Did we ever clear that post-Vietnam hurdle to enlisting?
