Just made both the curry and the Katsu (with a fresh bottle of the Katsu sauce) for a new girl.
It was a smashing success.
I've tried several times now to find the pickled vegetable side item that NAV says is traditionally served with the katsu dish... to no avail. I got some angel-hair sliced cabbage from the grocery store and served it as a garnish. She ate all of it, so I guess I done good.
Sandy, thank you sincerely for posting all of this valuable information in this thread. This stuff's so good, it's getting me laid.
