I've never been able to really rip an AutoX course. I've been moderately successful (years ago) but it's certainly a different style than door to door racing. It takes me a minute to get in a groove and go. Well done.
Somewhat related note, I did just acquire an X30 TAG kart (not a shifter) to use as a "chase" kart with the kid. I've gone pretty damned fast in a full bodied car on a race track. It is nowhere near as terrifying as 80 in a go kart with a corner coming at you.
