Condolences to you - I feel for you. I think it is tougher in some ways to lose a parent where you have unresolved issues than it can be with a parent you are very close to. I know for me, both of my own parents were so wonderful and damn near perfect (think leave it to Beaver) and my mom and I had NO secrets or nothing we would not discuss - we saw her death coming and talked openly about it. I was well prepared and I knew there was no possible way we could have been any closer than we were. I have friends on the other hand - like you - where for some reason or the other they were estranged from one of their parents. It seems to hang with them many many years later. May YOU find some peace in her passing.
