You are also going to have to do a major clean on the inside of gas tank and possibly line it. Of course, you want to do this without damaging the paint. It will depend on how rusted it is inside. Shine a flashlight in there. Even a speck of sand will clog a carb. jet.
I did electrolysis on one my vintage bikes to preserve the original paint. Heavy layer of petroleum jelly, shrink wrap over that with multiple layers, etc...it worked.
If you line it stay away from Kreem! Go with Caswell or the Redkote from O'Reilly.
