Yes, denial sounds about right, or maybe it's "bi-curious".
It was clear these "fellas" were there to stir up trouble, they got caught for bragging about their plan prior to the event. My sympathy level for them doesn't even move the needle off of 0.
Edit: I would have given them their money back for the tickets, just to take the high road, though.
