I met a guy yesterday that was shooting my lens with my old body, the MK III. Not a lot to do when you're sitting around waiting for bird activity so we started talking all things camera. At one point we compared settings for BIF photography. 90% of our settings were the same. I took a few things away from him and he took a few from me. It was a VERY worthwhile discussion. It's always good to get another shooters perspective on settings.
I should also mention he was Russian. All his menu's were set to Russian language.
There were several other people there doing the same thing we were. A couple wandered over and made comments that we were 'cheating' with these super-teles. I offered to let one guy try it out. He ripped off a couple dozen shots and we had a look afterwords on the display. Not a single one was even close to in focus. As a matter of fact a good many of them didn't even have the bird in the frame.
