Default Congrats To My Son

I don’t generally start threads like this because it’s really not my style, but I thought some of you might be interested.

I’m pretty proud of my son Steven. A few years ago, he decided he wanted to be a trainer/football coach. When he graduated high school, his grades weren’t exactly where they needed to be. He’s spent the last year and a half at community college keeping a full class load. He was also hired by his former Varsity coach to coach the middle school offense. Over the last two seasons, he’s compiled a 13-1 record.

He just got notified that he was accepted to the University of Arkansas and leaves in January. After coaching his last game, his old Varsity coach who is now the district athletic director came up to us both and asked Steven to sit down with him before he leaves for Arkansas. He has close ties to the head football coach there and he’s going to call and recommend him for a job as a student intern for the team. He’ll be on the sidelines at every SEC game, get all the regalia, be able to register for classes early. Basically all the advantages of being a student athlete without being banged up.

He also told him in his entire career, he's recommended TWO students. Both are now offensive coordinators at the college level.

And he also earned his Eagle Scout.

I’m sad and thrilled at the same time. And a very proud dad. And very blessed to have the kids I do. Hope y'all don't mind me sharing. Obligatory pics:
