Never done a COA on a knife. For something like that, I would suggest a scrimshaw artist to do it on [legal]ivory handles.

Never done any swords, and only a few "fighters." I'm of the belief that unless you are trained correctly, a "fighting knife" will get you killed. Best fighter I got has a 12 rd. magazine.

I learned that through the efforts of several 'smiths and knifemakers. The person that taught me the most about forging damascus steel is Ryan Johnson, IMHO, one of the best in this part of the country. He runs the metal shop at UT in Chattanooga and is part owner of RMJ tactical.
