The Army wouldn't fly their Apaches into battle cause they were too afraid of losing them. Who do you think picks up their slack?
If the Politicians would have listen to Gen. Patton we would wouldn't have had communism in Russia. If the Politician's had listen to Gen. McArthur we wouldn't have had communism in China.
Although we lost 56k plus soldiers and the Viet Song lost over a million soldiers it would have been just like the 6 day war back in the 60's that Israel won if the Politicians got out of the way and let the Military run it.

MacArthur was fired. Patton didn’t get promoted. What does that tell you about the political game. They should have become presidents like Ike, a United States Army five-star general, aka General of the Army.
With very, very few exceptions, all politicians suck. Doesn’t matter where they’re from, what color they are, or what side of the aisle they’re on. Why would anyone pursue a career only to play that game.
