I’m going to attempt to journal here.

I’m about a week out from surgery but I’ve already missed two treatments for Crohns. I’m getting sicker by the day as inflammation starts the cycle of:

Inflammation which causes damage which causes inflammation. Intestines, joints, muscles, optic nerves.

Mostly I feel weak, fatigued and vaguely sick. My skin is getting grey as my body redirects blood flow to my gut where the war is waging. Enormous energy being expended there as my immune system attacks my gut lining.

I will miss one more treatment. I’ve never missed this many. It’s dangerous to start again. My GI wants me starting ASAP after the surgery. Last time I missed two treatments and had to be hospitalized. They will have to bombard me with chemo loading doses. That should be fun. It sometimes causes the heart to stop.

I’m working about six hours a day. Still recovering from my show Monday night.

The rest of the time I’m sleeping. I think it’s a way to hide.
