Default A Legend In Hollywood, Doris Day, Passed Away...

Doris Mary Ann Kappelhoff, also known as Doris Day, is a legend in the entertainment industry has passed away at the age of 97.

All her life she believed that she was two years younger than her actual age because she only knew her birth date, April 3, 1922, recently.

During her teen days, she had a car accident where she got her leg injury. Little did she know while recovering from her injury that she will discover her passion and talent for music. For a long period of time she just listen to the radio while recovering and sometimes she sing along. She loves listening to her idol Ella Fitzgerald, who also covered Doris’ songs. She became successful in 1945 with her hit song, “Sentimental Journey.” It touches the heart of people especially soliders who were protecting their country and wishing they could come home. A year later, she became the highest paid female band vocalist.

Doris didn’t stop with music as she also discovered that she has a talent in acting. In 1959, she starred in romantic comedy movies that also became a huge hit. She costar with Rock Hudson with many films, whom became special friend to her. Unortunately, Rock died in 1895.

The kind-hearted and talented entertainer also established a few animal rights organizations. She influenced the US Congress in support of the animal welfare activisim.

She has founded several organization like the Doris Day Animal League, which joined the Humane Society of the United States in 2006.

Years after, in 2011, she founded a horse sanctuary located in Texas.
