Default I don't believe Muslims...

We've all heard it hundreds, if not thousands of times: Islam is a religion of peace! Muslims condemn violence! Muslims condemn terrorism!

"Moderate" Muslims have proclaimed with real, or feigned, anger that extremists have hijacked the real Islam – the “religion of peace.” If the moderate Muslims truly believe their “religion of peace” has been hijacked by extremist elements that do not represent the teachings of the prophet and of Islam, why don’t they step forward and speak up?

There were celebrations across the Muslim world when the twin towers fell. We saw people threatened with death over a cartoon. We see Christian churches specifically targeted by Muslim forces: Young girls abducted, raped and murdered, beheadings and burnings that defy imagination. Where is the Islamic condemnation of these activities?

Edmund Burke, an 18th-century political philosopher, said: “All that is necessary for evil to triumph is that good men do nothing.” In pre-World War II Germany, all Germans were not Nazis. The Nazis began as a relatively small political party founded by an ex-con, Adolf Hitler. Estimates are that at his peak, no more than 40 percent voted for him.

In World War II Germany, if you lived near a huge something or other where trainloads of people came in but none went out, and smokestacks belched black smoke from furnaces 24 hours a day, wouldn’t you wonder what went on there?

Many Americans opposed Hitler’s designs on the world, but they believed the U.S. shouldn’t interfere in European affairs.

The moderates, the pacifists, the silent “good people” may not have participated in this evil. They may have even had passionate discussions about it among themselves. In private, they may have been adamantly opposed to it, but their failure to vigorously and publicly oppose it with words and actions ultimately allowed evil to triumph.

More than half (51%) of U.S. Muslims polled believe either that they should have the choice of American or Shariah Courts, or that they should have their own tribunals to apply Shariah . Only 39% of those polled said that Muslims in the U.S. should be subject to American Law. 60% say that they are more loyal to Islam that the United States.

Here's a sampling of what Shariah Law provides:

• Criticizing or denying any part of the Quran is punishable by death.
• Criticizing Muhammad or denying that he is a prophet is punishable by death.
• Criticizing or denying Allah, the god of Islam is punishable by death.
• A Muslim who becomes a non-Muslim is punishable by death.
• A non-Muslim who leads a Muslim away from Islam is punishable by death.
• A non-Muslim man who marries a Muslim woman is punishable by death.
• A man can marry an infant girl and consummate the marriage when she is 9 years old.
• Girls' clitoris should be cut (Muhammad's words, Book 41, Kitab Al-Adab, Hadith 5251).
• A woman can have 1 husband, who can have up to 4 wives; Muhammad can have more.
• A man can beat his wife for insubordination.
• A man can unilaterally divorce his wife; a woman needs her husband's consent to divorce.
• A divorced wife loses custody of all children over 6 years of age or when they exceed it.
• Testimonies of four male witnesses are required to prove rape against a woman.
• A woman who has been raped cannot testify in court against her rapist(s).
• A woman's testimony in court, allowed in property cases, carries ˝ the weight of a man's.
• A female heir inherits half of what a male heir inherits.
• A woman cannot drive a car, as it leads to fitnah (upheaval).
• A woman cannot speak alone to a man who is not her husband or relative.

Silence is golden...but silence is also consent. To me it appears that the majority of Muslims have not spoken out against terrorism is because they are actually in the minority: The majority condones and approves it.

If we have Muslims members here who support the United States and its Constitution, I apologize to you, and I would like to hear your opinion.
