Lots of things can make a build like that a disaster.
Too much boost
Poor build (assuming work was done to handle the extra boost)
May have run past injector duty cycle and run lean
Sounds like the waste gate may have stuck shut (you don't hear any blow off once they really get into it)
Dynos are pretty hard on any vehicle since you're pushing the drivetrain under no real load, rapid accel etc.
That's why any dynojet operator carries at least 2 fire extinguishers. Mechanical failures are fairly common and many times due to the vehicle not being strapped down correctly.
