Wrong attitude. I have a friend that is an art restorer, an artisan. The city of New Orleans called my friend when they wanted to have their historic statues removed (because they were now offensive). He told them he wouldn't do the job for any amount of money.
Painting over George Washington and ripping down statues is about on par with the Taliban blowing up historic Buddha statues.
