Honestly, the easiest way I've found to do it is to sawzall every other stud horizontally then use the lath strips as leverage to remove large chunks of plaster without it crumbling.

Downside is it's heavy as hell but using a hand truck we walk out the chunks and throw 'em in the dumpster.

Yikes. Second question, how much does it cost to have a demo crew come in and do it while I go hang out on the boat.
