What year and which motor?

We have two, a 2001 A4 and a 2004 A4. Both have needed some work, but have been very good cars.

There are lots of plastic pieces on the 1.8 Turbo engines that get hard and brittle causing vacuum leaks. Check to see if the timing belt was done, I haven't done a V6 yet, but they can be a bit of challenge to do.

I'd recommend checking out some of the websites like Audizine to see some of common problems for the year he is looking at.

It's kind of like a Vette, there is an Audi Tax for parts, but there are plenty of places (such as ECS Tuning) to get parts, and Shokan for used parts.
