The NFL is a business. FOX is a business. It is their job to make money. Nothing more, nothing less.
The Super Bowl is the most watched TV event worldwide on an annual basis. If you look down the list of the most watched TV programs in the history of the planet, the entire top of the list is made up of the Super Bowls over the last decade. Do you think that is because of the football game being played on the field?
Does having Lady Gaga perform at halftime bring in more money for them than the Texas State Armadillos marching band? Of course it does. It is ridiculous to expect them to do anything else.
