If you can't find anything that actually happened, you'll make shit up.

F'k YOU Azzholes.

I'm sure you've seen that one movie where the superhero is bagged constantly by some jackhole Army General, or the benevolent alien is tortured by the sadistic Air Force Colonel, or the one where Joe Everyman is chased all over the place by nameless CIA operatives that just start shooting on sight. If the President isn't a retard when the aliens arrive, the sight of them will strike him dumb or cowardly.

How many movies center on the idea that even if the aliens are nice folks with a cure for cancer they want to share, the whole thing goes to hell because the US Military won't stop pointing guns at them?

Yeah, in Hollywood you use Nazis for kitsch effect, but use the good old USA to display true stupidity, pride, greed, hate or evil.
It has always been this way, and it is something the industry should be ashamed of.

That said...

Anyone that cites a film, or a Black Sabbath song, or a TV series, or a Gangsta Rap track as an excuse, or reason for violence is a liar.

This guy was unbalanced, damaged and a coward LONG before Brian DePalma made his anti-war propaganda film.

Using the film as his excuse is just a way of pointing the finger of blame for his act at the United States. His claims are propaganda just as the film is propaganda.

Redacted is a terrible movie, on several different levels. I lost a lot of respect for DePalma when I saw it. The film is nothing more than the mewlings of a petulant brat that isn't getting his way.

Thank god almost nobody has seen it.

But it is not the reason for this evil.
