Not really. Just remember. The pentagon boss is a civilian. Most of the big wigs are. They have uniformed counterparts, but the civilians outrank them. Uniformed peeps come and go but we remain. They hate the assignment and can’t wait to leave. We’re the glue that holds it all together. Everyone in uniform will be civilian someday. Some think they’re hot shit and they probably are. Most of them are normal people and we all put our pants on one leg at a time. Once you realize these things you get a little more comfortable.
Never had to dodge a bullet thanks to those who do. Thank God for the brave men and women who put their lives on the line every day. I love serving those who serve.
