It is a speculation at best, that he was his own worst enemy. There is no way to quantify the votes he may have lost by cowering to the press, or the left. He could, theoretically pick up 1 million voters on "class" points or "Presidential behavior" and lost 2 million for going wimpy. I thought a few tweets were cringeworthy, but having the balls to voice his opinion was still appreciated. Calling a spade a spade should not have a downside except to the PC promotors...of which I am not.
