I think that $0.00 is the appropriate amount in that if they are in fact a descendant of slaves brought to America in the late 1700's and early 1800's their quality of life is better than those relatives that were not sold as slaves and still live in countries such as Niger.
Second, how is anyone going to be able to distinguish between a descendant of a slave and someone who immigrated (either legally or illegally) to America at any point from the 1860's through today?
Or are we going to give any/all people of color a reparations check?
