I finally got around to putting jack stands under my 73 so I could get a better look. Here's what I found.









Looks like the engine will have to come out in order to get access to weld the parts back together. I guess now I have to decide whether to disassemble it here at the house and try to get someone to come here and weld it, or just load it onto a flatbed and take it to someone who can do all the work for me.
