What has bothered me most recently about getting older is realizing how many of my contemporaries have passed on. I'm 71, and many members of my high school class are gone, as are several of my similarly-aged co-workers from before I retired.
I used to check the obituaries for parents of my peers, like people I went to school with. NOW.....I'm finding the peers in there once in a while! Almost all of their parents are gone now...You know you're getting on when those around you are dropping!
